Welcome to the 2021-22 season, see Registration for program fees, other information, and a link to register!

Although we have no clarification yet about community use of schools, we are reasonably confident about gaining access to public school gyms in October or perhaps November, and we are able to extend our season in the Spring if needed. We are opening registration on this basis, but charging only half fees up front for Recreational and Development programs, with the remainder to be invoiced once gym access has been confirmed.

Competitive tryout fees are being charged up front as usual. Tryout dates will be announced ASAP, we expect to use available facilities such as Redeemer Christian High School.

All coaches are required to register, here is a link to the Coaching Registration Form. Please address any coaching (or other) questions to the appropriate program Vice President (see Executive Committee). Registration for junior referees and scorekeepers will follow at a later date.

As previously announced, the NBBA now requires that all coaches and eligible players be fully vaccinated, and the registration forms include a vaccination status attestation; see the NBBA Vaccination Policy news post for details.

We expect there will be further guidance from Ottawa Public Health on a safe return to basketball, possibly regarding use of masks. Under Step Three of Ontario reopening, masks are required indoors except when engaged in an athletic activity such as basketball; however, masking is encouraged for indoor sports where they can be worn safely. Masks are mandatory for coaches.

Just a few reminders:

      • The NBBA has a new registration system with TeamSnap, if you have not already done so, you will have to create a new account.
      • If you are registering for a competitive try-out, you may also want to register for the corresponding Development or Recreational program to hold your spot should you not make the competitive team.
      • Development and Recreational programs have registration caps, and registering with payment secures a spot. Please select the waitlist option if (and only if) a program is full; spots are held by competitive players and will open up after tryouts are complete. We will do our best to accommodate everyone, but being on a waitlist does NOT secure a spot in a program.
      • The NBBA currently plans to run one team at each age group for the Competitive Program, but may add additional teams if there is demand, coaches and adequate gym space. This could include selects.
