With the opening of some OCDSB and OCSB schools for community use, the NBBA is pleased to launch our Development and Recreational programming as of Saturday, December 4.

The Development program will be hosted at Ottawa Christian School and Redeemer Christian High School, consisting of our regular U8 and U10 programs, and, to start, sort-outs for U12 girls and boys house-league teams. Sort-outs for the U14-U16-U19 Recreational programs will also be held on Dec. 4, using Gyms A/B and C/D at Longfields Davidson Heights Secondary School. For most programs we are able to invite additional players from the waitlists to register. Here is the schedule for December 4 (since there is more than one session for U10-U12-U14-U16-U19 boys, we ask that those players attend the session corresponding to their last name).

Second sort-outs will take place on December 11, including scrimmages to balance teams, and December 18 will be used for additional sort-outs or practices for newly-formed teams, which would likely require doubling up on gym space and also using Merivale High School for Recreational teams. The goal is to have a practice and league structure in place in January.

These and other details are being sent out by email. To ensure participation is as safe as possible, health protocols include proof of full vaccination for eligible players, masks on the court, a Covid health check, and no spectators, but all who attend should understand that they are accepting risk if they choose to participate.
