The Nepean Bluedevils 13U showed what teamwork looks like this weekend at the OBL League in Toronto, earning two hard-fought wins to stay unbeaten at 6-0. Behind strong scoring, determined defense, and unselfish passing, the Bluedevils defeated Momentum Orange 54-45 and battled back for a thrilling 59-54 comeback victory over Union Elite Sigmund.
The Bluedevils set the tone early with energy and effort at both ends of the floor. After falling behind 10-3, the team rallied with a 12-1 run and never looked back.
Kia led the way with an impressive 29 points and 11 rebounds, but it was the group's all-around play that made the difference.
Nassif (8 points) provided timely scoring and quick hands on defense, Martin (5) hit key baskets and helped control the tempo, and Seb (4) gave the team solid minutes with active defense. Zach, Chris, Anson, and Alex each added buckets and hustle plays that kept Momentum Orange on their heels.
Linden earned the start and anchored the team early, setting a strong defensive tone. Eric delivered high-impact minutes, grabbing rebounds and forcing turnovers that fueled the comback win.
Nepean's defense was relentless - forcing 23 steals and blocking three shots - while also dominating the glass with 39 rebounds. The team shared the ball beautifully, recording 14 assists on 23 made baskets, showing how much this group trusts one another on the court.
The second game showed the heart of this Bluedevils team. Down 14 points in the first half, the players refused to quit. With constant defensive pressure, smart passing, and unselfish play, the Bluedevils clawed their way back to win 59-54.
Kia again led the scoring with 24 points, including 17 in the second half, while Chris had a massive all-around performance - 11 points, 13 rebounds, and 6 assists - energizing the team on both ends.
Martin (8 points) attacked the basket and hit key shots down the stretch, Anson (6) brought composure and defense, and Zach (4), Seb (2), Niko (2), and Wes (2) each contributed important plays in the comeback effort.
The team's depth showed as everyone stepped up - rebounding, defending, and making the extra pass. The Bluedevils pulled down 52 rebounds, had 13 assists, and forced 13 steals to fuel the comeback and close out another statement win.
The Bluedevils 13U move to 6-0 on the season, proving that their strength lies in teamwork, effort, and trust. Every player contributed to this perfect start, and the group continues to grow in confidence and chemistry with each game.
